About Krista Gene

Krista Gene is a local singer/songwriter originally from Louisiana. She delivers a soulful and heartfelt performance wherever she goes with her velvety sound. Influenced by many genres, she gracefully dances between the lines of Soul, Pop, and Americana. She received a BFA in Musical Theatre from Hardin-Simmons University in 2016 and after graduation, she joined KT and The Blues Scientists, briefly playing local Abilene venues and performing at the Simply Texas Blues Festival in San Angelo, TX. In 2018 Krista moved to Conroe, TX, and quickly began playing local shows.

Since moving to Conroe, Krista Gene has been involved in several bands including New Town Theory, Casual Heathens, and Charles Peters and The Backwards 8. She has her hand in music as much as she can and wishes to give back to her community through music. While only being a resident of Conroe for just 5 years, she has hosted a variety of open mics and songwriter showcases in Conroe and Houston and is a mentor to several local artists. Most recently, she has branched out to play at some of Houston's most popular venues including The Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo, The Rustic, The House of Blues Houston, and The Continental Club.
